Merry Christmas to all!!!!
You might see a pair of shoes in a magazine and think to yourself that you could never afford them. Totally untrue, there a loads of bargains if you shop smart and make the most of this time of year.
Some might have heard various urban myths of the Harrods sale, it’s not totally true any more but the deals there are pretty good, with over 70% discounts at times.
Smaller and larger don’t sell as well. Generally 38/39 (5/6) sell the fastest, followed by 40/41, generally 34-37 (1-4) are the shoes most often left. So you could potentially walk in on the last day of the sales and look at over 90% off retail price. However if you’re in the mid sizes you need to get in early. Also don’t forget it’s not just shoes in these sales!
Whenever you go though it’s going to be a crush so please take care.
Nowhere in the UK collects together quite so many luxury designer shops in one place, even Bond Street is not as concentrated. Being one of the UK’s oldest outlets, having just celebrated it’s 20th birthday, Bicester has gained global appeal drawing in visitors from China, Russia and the Middle East.
Bicester offers good value all year round if you know where to look. I tend to avoid the big and well established names, favouring smaller British names.
Most of these places will extend discounts during sale season, and also in the case of a few shops they will occasionally sell samples too.
Generally I prefer to visit at quieter times, as staff usually have the time to help you. I generally avoid boxing day and black friday, and go in the late afternoons or evenings.
